YetiCare Oy, a Finnish pioneer in inclusive welfare technology, and AMATUHI Inc., a Japanese company dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs, have initiated a new partnership. This collaboration begins with a pilot project that will introduce YetiCare’s solutions into AMATUHI’s AMANEKU group homes. Together, the two organizations are working toward a long-term relationship, with the shared aim of expanding cooperation and building a strong foundation for YetiCare’s presence in Japan.
A Shared Vision for Inclusive Expansion
In Japan’s welfare and care sectors, there is a growing emphasis on improving users’ quality of life, happiness, and social participation. While many current care technologies prioritise operational efficiency, there is a significant gap in solutions that focus on enhancing users’ wellbeing through promoting happiness, self-expression, and social connections.
AMATUHI is dedicated to creating environments where individuals can live rich and authentic lives, particularly through their group homes for people with disabilities, known as “AMANEKU.” Their mission is to create fulfilling lives for everyone, enabling them to be themselves regardless of any disabilities, and providing support so that each person can reach their full potential. YetiCare shares this vision and purpose, driving a strong partnership with broad opportunities.
YetiCare shares this vision and purpose, driving a strong partnership that opens up broad opportunities. The pilot implementation began at the AMANEKU group homes in late 2025. During this pilot phase, feedback will be collected to ensure compliance and to establish a well-built foundation for future expansion.

Comments on the Partnership
Maria Jokelainen, Founder & CEO of YetiCare, commented:
“YetiCare was born from our own experiences as parents of children with autism, where we saw both the potential and the limitations of technology in everyday care. As care environments become increasingly digital, technology must be designed and used in ways that genuinely support people, both professionals and the clients. For us, this means creating solutions that are intuitive, inclusive, and rooted in real care environments.
In partnering with AMATUHI, we have found a shared understanding of these challenges. Their expertise in the welfare sector, combined with our focus on inclusive technology, enables us to harness innovation responsibly. Together, we aim to remove barriers, support independence, and create meaningful everyday lives. We believe that technology can be a powerful tool for inclusion when guided by empathy, experience, and purpose.“
Tatsuma Yoshida, President & CEO of AMATUHI Inc., commented:
“I myself experienced mental disability in childhood and have lived facing its aftereffects. I founded AMATUHI with the desire to create a society where everyone can live richly and authentically, without being segregated by the label of ‘disability.’
We have been practising daily at AMANEKU under the mission of ‘creating a rich life.’ Meeting YetiCare’s inclusive technology, I am convinced of the possibility of further deepening this philosophy.
YetiCare founders Maria and Jarkko also began technology development from the perspective of being parents of children with autism, driven by the desire ‘for our children.’ The realisation as stakeholders and love as parents create technology that truly supports people — I deeply resonate with this common ground.
I believe that by fusing Finland’s Nordic philosophy of ‘fostering a meaningful everyday life’ with our ‘creation of a rich life’ cultivated on the frontlines, we can open new possibilities for Japan’s welfare sector. Realising a rich life together with technology is the future we aim for.”

The Power of Inclusive Technology to Activate and Engage
The YetiCare solution, inspired by the founders’ experiences as parents of children on the autism spectrum, is designed to promote cognitive, physical, and social engagement. It provides equal digital access to all people regardless of their abilities.
YetiCare’s solution has shown significant positive effects in Europe, where it is utilised by care providers, rehabilitation centres, and hospitals, including a key player in autism support, the Autism Foundation Finland, and Akershus University Hospital in Norway, in the neurological rehabilitation settings. Both users and healthcare professionals in Europe have reported increased participation in group activities, a greater sense of achievement, and heightened motivation to engage in rehabilitation exercises.
YetiCare works closely with universities and educational institutions to gather evidence about the benefits and effectiveness of its solutions. A feasibility study on digital games for older adults, conducted by PhD researcher Saara Kukkohovi, revealed that YetiCare’s digital games promote new forms of physical activity by requiring a variety of body movements. Additionally, they encourage increased social interaction and engagement, bringing joy and variety to the participants.
