New Approach to Engagement, Training, and Inclusion
For six months, residents and staff at the Fabos Activity Centre (Aktivitetscenter Fabos) and Hjørnet residence (Bostedet Hjørnet) in Denmark tested YetiCare’s digital activity solution, specifically designed for people with special needs. YetiCare offers a wide range of apps that support physical, cognitive, and social training through engaging and accessible digital activities.
Although YetiCare is new to Denmark, it has already been widely used in other Nordic countries, including Finland, Sweden and Norway, where it has proven to be a popular and effective tool for inclusion and learning.
Motivation, participation, and shared joy
Staff quickly observed positive engagement among users. According to Mette Iversen Båge, Head of Aktivitetscenter Fabos, YetiCare offers activities that both challenge and motivate users and can be tailored to individual needs.
One of the most popular activities is YetiFind, a game where participants search for objects mentioned on the screen. YetiFind is designed to practice attention and perception skills. The activity is played together and has created laughter, concentration, and collaboration among participants. Read about YetiApps.
Reaching residents who rarely participate
At Hjørnet residence, the activity screen has had a particularly strong impact. Finding activities that engage all residents can be challenging, but the screen has helped involve users who usually participate less in group activities.
“We have residents who usually don’t participate much in group activities, but here we see them being both active and happy. This is something we haven’t experienced to the same extent before,” says Anne Therese Sørensen, an educator at the Hjørnet residential facility.

From pilot to integrated care practice
Following the successful evaluation, the organisations were working to secure funding to make the solution permanent. The plan is to integrate YetiCare’s apps and games into individual care plans helping residents achieve their individual goals and sub-goals, making inclusive technology an integral part of daily professional work.
With these positive experiences, Aktivitetscenter Fabos and Hjørnet residence hope that more citizens in Denmark will benefit from YetiCare’s inclusive digital technology that strengthens community, learning, and individual development.
After all, the Housing and Employment (Bo & Beskæftigelse) department of Odder municipality has received their own screens, which will create even more joy and development in everyday life.
